Email this page.

"I have a fireplace that has dirty bricks. Will stain solver do the trick and if so how much solution do I need? Thank You.

Laura Beasley - Austell, GA

Stain Solver will clean soot from fireplace brick!

Mix one cup - 8 ounces - of Stain Solver per gallon of HOT tap water.

Stir until dissolved. This can take 5 or 10 minutes.

Apply the solution to the brick with a garden hand-pump sprayer.

Allow to soak on the brick 30 minutes KEEPING THE BRICK WET with the solution - Very Important!

After just 15 minutes, scrub the brick with a stiff scrub brush and add MORE solution.

Place old towels on hearth to capture dirty soot water that drips down from brick.

Rinse after scrubbing with clear water. Wait for brick to dry to see difference.

REPEAT process once brick dries to remove all the soot.
